This holiday season, April Rochester must decide if her first love is merely “Home for Christmas” – or home for good.

James Frost, the black sheep of the family, is back in Carol Falls, Vermont, to build a big box store and prove he’s a success. His plans derail when he learns his high school sweetheart has moved back to town also, along with her autistic son, Marcus.

Ten years ago Jimmy and April eloped, only to be torn apart when April’s parents insisted on an annulment. Their love for each other never died, however, and this could be their second chance. But James has been hiding behind a mountain of secrets, one of them involving baby Holly, the abandoned child recently found at the family farm.

And all of James’ well-kept secrets are about to come tumbling down. HOME FOR CHRISTMAS, a 40,000 word sweet romance novella, is Book Two of ‘A Frost Family Christmas’ trilogy. Each novella is a complete romance with a linking mystery connecting the three books.
The three titles in this series are:
Book 1 = WHAT CHILD IS THIS by C.J. Carmichael - Kindle
Book 2 = HOME FOR CHRISTMAS by Roxy Boroughs - Kindle
Book 3 = THE HOLLY & THE IVY by Brenda M. Collins - Kindle

My Thoughts :

Home for Christmas is your typical holiday romance with a few added extras.  You will get the sweetness surrounding the holiday, a second chance romance and a lesson on jumping to conclusions..  I honestly wasn't sure I was going to like our hero (James/Jimmy), he left town with the need to prove himself and is back with a fancy car and fancy job.  It's not until we learn of his learning disability and his need to hide it from his family that we start to understand him a bit more and why he feels he needs to prove himself.  Reuniting with his high school sweetheart and wife for 10 minutes, April, the past and present collide as they both are holding grudges and fears..  One thing I particularly loved about this story was April's son Marcus.  Marcus is autistic which is something you don't see tackled a lot in a romance novel.  The struggles that April goes thru on a daily basis trying to help her autistic son were done amazingly well.  Throwing Jimmy into the mix when he knows basically nothing about autism (to begin with) and makes some classic mistakes that make us parents of autistic kids cringe made the whole book seems so real to me.   I applaud that author for throwing some real world conflicts such as this into her wonderful romance.    While I have read the entire series, this was my favorite one due to this fact!
Note : Home for Christmas is the middle book (2 of 3) in this series and while it does have some continuation (Baby Holly mystery & the Frost family in general), it works fine as a stand alone book as well.

Before turning her attention to fiction, Roxy appeared in numerous TV commercials and movies, and ‘tread the boards’ in theaters from New York to Newfoundland.
