Hopelessly drawn to one another, they manage to slip away from the wreckage to get a little closer. My Thoughts :
I loved both Not Quite Dating (Book 1) and Not Quite Mine (Book 2) so it's probably not going to come as any surprise that I really loved Not Quite Enough. Catherine has a tendency to make her series better and better with each new book! You might think you fell in love with the first book, but each book after is just a tad bit better.
NQE is Monica's story. We've followed Monica thru the first two books first as Jessie's sister who teams up with Jack in NQD, then as Katie's roommate who helps keep the baby secret in NQM. It's about time Monica gets her own story! And boy oh boy, what a story she gets!
Off to Jamaica as part of Borderless Nurses to help with the aftermath of an earthquake and a tsunami, Monica meets Trent very early on. The sparks fly immediately. :sigh: One thing I particularly loved is that knowing Catherine used to be an ER nurse, I always wonder how much of herself and her own experiences did she put into Monica (also an ER nurse)? The storyline is moving - from the destruction and devastation, to the compassion and love shown. While naturally this is a romance, it's also so much more. The details make you feel like you are there in the midst of the devastation.
This is not a quick meet, fall in love, and happily ever after story. We get some lovely bullheaded people to deal with this time around. Monica, aka The Ice Queen -who doesn't believe in falling in love. She's the one to always put on the brakes on any relationship. Trent- who's been burned deeply and still has the scars from a romance gone wrong. They are both stubborn, strong willed people and it was fun to watch them overcome their issues. Heartbreak is a given in life, it was nice to see it incorporated and dealt with so well!
As always with Catherine's books - I highly recommend this one! She does such a great job making us fall in love , not only with the main characters, but with the background ones as well. I am always left wondering what will happen next !!
