Saturday's with Catherine -- Guest Post by the lovely @Catherinebybee #NotQuiteEnough tour #Contemporary Romance

Welcome to another Saturday's with Catherine. All this month, I decided to dedicate my Saturday posts to one of my favorite up and coming authors - Catherine Bybee.   This week and next are part of the Not Quite Enough blog tour. I was double blessed on this tour.. Maybe Crystal just loves me.    Either way, I get TWO stops on the tour.   Woot! Woot!   Today is our guest post from the wonderful author Catherine Bybee -- She seems to be cranking these books out like crazy.  As a reader, I LOVE it because I can't get enough of her series- but I had to ask how she does it.. lol.      Next week, you'll get to see my review of Not Quite Enough.  Yum!   So first the book --

Monica Mann has made it her life's work to save lives.  After an earthquake and tsunami hit the shores of Jamaica, she volunteers her trauma skills with Borderless Nurses.  Calculating and methodical, Monica creates order out of whatever chaos she finds.

Until she finds the perpetually barefoot, impossibly masculine Trent Fairchild.  No one can pin him down. No, really.  He's a pilot and manages a small fleet of choppers on his adopted island home.  Hopelessly drawn to one another, they manage to slip away from the wreckage to get a little closer.  And they get a lot closer than expected when aftershocks from the earthquake trap them in their own life-or-death scenario.  Paradise has brought them together.  Now will it tear them apart?

And now.. onto our guest post with the speed writer Catherine Bybee....

Keeping Pace with Nora by Catherine Bybee

Yeah, I know… shameless name dropping running amok here.

I’m asked all the time how I am able to write so many books in a year. I usually reply with a snarky comment about how slow I am compared to Nora. That woman rocks the bookshelves. All kidding aside, I know I put out more books than the average author, and I think I can accomplish this for a several different reasons.

First, this is my job. I no longer punch a time clock as a ER RN so I don’t have that pulling at my time.

Second, my boys are 14 and 17… and ‘Mom isn’t a lot of fun.’ I’m told I’ll get a whole lot more fun when my kids are in their twenties…until then I schlep, make lunches and dinners, attend track meets and ASB meetings…but other than that… the boys are growing up to be rather independent. *scratches head* wonder who they remind me of? Hmmm?

Third, my hubby owns his own business as well and when you’re in charge there is no one to blame if your work doesn’t get done.

So…long story short. I have time to write. And I do. My time management skills rock if whatever I’m working on is something I WANT to do.
Getting the laundry done…not so much!

When I’m on a deadline I make darn sure I write 2500K a day or more. The habits of successful writers is writing. I try and balance my day with social networking and writing…but when I have to crank something out I let my assistant pick up the slack with my online presence and write the book.

Because yeah… I kinda wanna be Nora when I grow up. I don’t know if I can write 200 books in 30 years, but I’m damn well gonna try.

bwahaha.. Loved the shameless name dropping..  Nora was one of my first loves.  Not only do I love her work, but I have always loved how she manages to crank out book after book so that I'm not sitting here twiddling my thumbs for a year waiting for another book to read.  You do remind me of her :)

New York Times & USA Today bestselling author Catherine Bybee was raised in Washington State, but after graduating high school, she moved to Southern California in hopes of becoming a movie star. After growing bored with waiting tables, she returned to school and became a registered nurse, spending most of her career in urban emergency rooms. She now writes full-time and has penned novels Wife by Wednesday, Married by Monday, and Not Quite Dating. Bybee lives with her husband and two teenage sons in Southern California.
