[Interview + Review + Giveaway] All for Hope by @OliviaH_Writer

Hey guys!  Today is the day we've been waiting for!  An interview with my favorite author to stalk Olivia Hardin and my review on her new contemporary romance  All for Hope (which just happens to be on sale for only $1.99 during the tour) !   And if you didn't enter the giveaway the first time around, be sure to enter today.

~ Interview Time ~

1. Let’s start out easy. Tell us a little bit about your book.
All for Hope is the very sweet love story of two friends who haven’t been friends in a very long time.  Hope gets herself into a whole heap of trouble when she kidnaps a baby to protect her from an abusive grandfather.  Brennan steps in to help her get to safety and amidst that journey the two of them rediscover their love for each other.

2. What inspired you to write this story?
I honestly have no earthly idea what inspired me to write this.  I actually came up with the story about 15 years ago and for the life of me I can’t recall from where it sprang.
15 years??  15 years Olivia?  What else are you holding out on me with?

3. What is the main lesson that your book is trying to teach?
This is a story of love.  Not just the love between a couple, but of friends and family and the ties that bring people together.

4. Moving on to your writing career, how long have you been writing? Did you always dream to become an author?
I published my first book a little more than two years ago with Witch Way Bends, the first in my Bend-Bite-Shift Trilogy.  I’ve wanted to be a writer since I was about fifteen when I scribbled stories into spiral notebooks.
:Sigh:  The trilogy that keeps going :)   Love it !

5. I’m always curious whether or not authors read the same types of books that they write.  So tell us, what book genres do you love to read? to write?

I’m eclectic.  I read all sorts of genres:  historical fiction, historical romance, mystery, science fiction.  I haven’t written in all of those genres, but I plan to hit them all eventually.

6. What are you reading right now?
The Emerald Tablet by Joshua Silverman.

7. Have any particular authors inspired you to write? If so, can you name one and what you like about their style?
Jude Devereaux is an author I loved reading when I was younger.  She had great romance and I loved that some of her stories had just a touch or inkling of magic or paranormal, probably before paranormal was even a genre.
We will not tell my 17yo that Jude Devereaux is one of your inspirations because that is her current favorite.. Then she will start stalking me to try to steal your books while I am reading.. Oh, the problems I can see happening here! :)

8. Do you have any upcoming projects?
Yes!  The second book in my urban fantasy MAUCs series, Tangled Up in Trouble will be out on June 21st and I have a fun Bend-Bite-Shift Short story coming out in the Eternal Summer anthology on June 24th.
Ok, I knew about Tangled Up in Trouble, but a short story from the Bend- Bite-Shift group?  Yeah!!

And now , a bit more about  All For Hope before you get my thoughts..

My Thoughts :

By now, we all know how much I adore Olivia.  That said, even I was a tiny bit worried that she ventured from the tried and true world of paranormal romance into contemporary romance.  Paranormal is so much more open of a genre, while contemporary has a bit stricter set of  'rules'.  I love love Olivia's paranormal work and had a tiny hesitation before reading  All For Hope that I might feel a tiny bit let down.

It seems, in my experience at least, that once an author gets going well in a certain genre, they stick to it and do well. There are few authors (that I read, at least) that can successfully write amazing books in different genres-- like Nora Roberts.  Let me just say that I worried for nothing!  That girl pulled it off like it was easy as pie!

Olivia wrote a solid group of characters for us to fall in love with yet again.  She skillfully weaves so many different threads of the story together to make an amazing impact!   Kidnapping an innocent baby in order to keep her safe from abusers may seem extreme but in today's society of DCS failure, I'm sure the thought goes thru many a mind more than you would think, even if they don't follow thru.   It was heartwarming to see all that Hope gave up to save this baby.  Throw in Brennan, a long lost family and lots of romance and you have a wonderful book!   My only complaint, as always with Olivia's work, is that it's over and I want more...

About the Author

Olivia Hardin realized early on how strange she was to have complete movie-like character dreams as a child. Eventually she began putting those vivid dreams to paper and was rarely without her spiral notebooks full of those mental ramblings. Her forgotten vision of becoming an author was realized when she connected with a group of amazingly talented and fabulous writers who gave her lots of direction and encouragement. With a little extra push from family and friends, she hunkered down to get lost in the words. She’s also an insatiable crafter who only completes about 1 out of 5 projects, a jogger who hates to run, and is sometimes accused of being artistic, though she’s generally too much of a perfectionist to appreciate her own work. A native Texas girl, Olivia lives in the beautiful Lone Star state with her husband and their puppy Bonnie.

  3. Oh, I forgot *facepalm*... 2nd chances... Well it depends on how the 1st chance ended. I believe that if the first time is ful of lies, deceiving, dishonesty and things like that, then I don't think it deserves a second chance because that wasn't love and it can't be. But if the reasons are something you can forgive and move past them and be happy again, then yes, I'm all about second chances.
