Thanks so much for having me here today!
Okay, I admit it. I love Christmas. There's something very special and exciting about the festive season. It pulls me in, like a kid in a candy store. And I don't mind one, little bit ;)
Of course, there is all that shopping to do and the decorating of the house with trinkets and sparkly things that have probably been hanging around for years (and chewed by the cats, if you're in my house!). There's the excessive cooking, and the equally excessive eating to get through. And of course the opening of presents – good, bad and the ugly!
But there really is something else I love about December… us in the United Kingdom, have a chance of snow. I think Christmas coupled with a healthy dose of the white stuff, makes everything right… even if it is only for a day or two.
I won't get too cheesy and start quoting lyrics from the song White Christmas (at least, not yet), but having snow gently falling outside the window, the Christmas lights glowing on the inside, is my idea of heaven and is almost magically. And after all the kissing under the mistletoe and eating too much turkey and chocolate, every year me and the hubby act just like kids and go 'play' with our gifts after we've opened them. Mine usually revolve around books, vouchers for books and places to house more books (there's a theme there…hmm) and I'll snuggle up with a paperback or my Kindle, and lose myself in a fantastic story or four – escaping from the outside world and staying lovely and warm… whilst still having an adventure.
We've already had a smattering of snow here, unfortunately melting the same day *sigh* but I'm still hoping for that White Christmas. And there's nothing better to cosy on up with over the coming weeks, than the anthology I'm in (yes, okay, I'm slightly biased and I'm a shameless promoter, LOL).
All four of us authors are mates – in fact, the other 2 books in the series (the Alpha's which is out now, and the Enforcer's out in the New Year) are all from authors in our online critique / support group, so what could be better than sharing the love at Christmas time with friends? And co-incidentally, the books are based on twelve writer friends who find themselves in a slightly strange bar in Scotland… how could you possibly resist giving the anthology a try?
I wish you a very merry Christmas and a festive season full of great reads… so go on, treat yourself ;)

About the
Author:
Multi-published author,
Xandra James, has always wanted to write romance books. Even when she was
sneaking peaks at the hot bits, too young to fully appreciate them, she dreamt
of writing her own.
Now, older and wiser, she's
got the opportunity to project her slightly dark and wacky, British sense of
humour onto others, whilst still writing the hot bits - bonus!
When not writing, Xandra is
thinking of excuses as to why she shouldn't be doing the housework, looking
after a husband and cats that refuse to pick up after themselves and climbing
the mountain in her house that's affectionately called her tbr pile.
She currently holds the crown
for Queen Procrastinator – something she's very proud of – so you can usually
find her online, somewhere, when she really should be writing.
