Excerpt :

Damon knelt before them.
"Will she get better? Will she…" Prince’s voice trailed off.
Her eyes locked on Damon’s face as he regarded her thoughtfully. His hand came up and she flinched as it rested on the top of her head. No pain came. She felt…nothing. If he tried to speak to her, she couldn’t hear him.
"No," he said finally. "There has been damage to the brain. There is bleeding and swelling inside."
Prince’s cry startled her, almost as much as the sudden clutching of his arms around her. "Can you do anything," he choked out. "Please, I am responsible. I can not…I will pay–"
Damon chuckled. "It is not your life that needs saving." He stared at Prince for a long moment. "I see." He shook his head. "Perhaps I was wrong and she isn’t the one. I read so few pages of the book." He turned to Kei.
"No," the Fey said. "I don’t remember."
"Pity."
"Dragos, I beg of you," Prince began again.
"The Elven prince begs, and for a human. How very far you have fallen." He looked down at her again.
Blinking up at him, she tried to get her scattered thoughts to work. She’d barely comprehended what he’d said past the inference she was dying. The words sent an icy chill through her body. Terror crawled through her, speeding her heart. Sweat broke out on her forehead and all she could hear was her increasingly frantic breathing.Kei startled her, leaning forward over her to press a kiss to her forehead. She tilted her head back, trying to see him.
"I’m with you."
Damon’s fingers brushes her cheek, drawing her attention back to him. "Do you wish to live, young Arowyn?"
Words refused to pass her lips. Somehow she managed to nod. She didn’t know what the cost would be, certainly there would be one. Right then, she didn’t care. Rot it all, she wanted to live!
"Very well." He regarded her thoughtfully for a moment. "Dragos rarely heal others. I do know the magic, but it is difficult. Your story has barely begun. I find I would actually attempt it, just to see what you might become and how it will unfold."
He sat back and gestured to the pile of furs next to him. "Lay her down. This will take some time and I’ll need no distractions."
Prince carefully set her amongst the furs, arranging her arms so her hands rested on her chest, tucking stray locks of hair behind her ears. Leaning forward, he rested his forehead for a moment against hers.
"Get well, Arowyn."
Bo appeared next, smoothing the hair back on the top of her head and squeezing one of her hands. "You can do this, pup."
Garen pressed his wet nose against her temple. If he spoke, she didn’t hear him.
Kei pushed the wolf aside and took her face in his hands. His eyes glowed with that strange orange inner light. Tears streaked down his cheeks. Despite the awkward position he leaned down and held her close for a moment. "Remember our promises," he whispered in her. "I’m always with you." He choked on a sob and squeezed her tightly again. "I love you," he whispered fiercely before quickly pulling away.
She wished she could speak. More than anything, she wanted to tell him she loved him, too. She wanted to tell all of them she did. Tears filled her eyes and slid down her face.Damon knelt beside her and turned her head to look at him. "I will do what I can," he said.
"However I can’t guarantee it will work. I have never tried to heal a human before. Understand?"
She managed a faint nod and pressed her quivering lips together.
He glanced up and gestured the others away. "Stand back and be silent." His eyes found hers again. "Don’t fight me this time, little one. Fall into my eyes…"
Blinking once more to clear the tears away, she tried to do as he asked. Damon’s eyes were strange enough she found it not difficult to stare. They had vertical slits and no whites at all. The iridescent color was a wash of blue-green with streaks of gold and red. The colors began to swirl, making her dizzy as she tried to watch them. A comforting thrum emanated from his chest, soothing her as his power wrapped around her. Her thoughts drifted into nothing.

Interview & Giveaway with Brighton Walsh- @WriteAsRain_

Welcome, welcome!  Today I'm happy to be a part of the Plus One book tour by Bewitching Book Tours.  For our stop today, I chose to interview the author Brighton Walsh.  Stay tuned for more about her book and a chance to win it for yourself !

Let's move onto the interview :

1. What inspired you to write this story?

When I first decided to try my hand at original fiction, I was actively seeking writing prompts to sort of get my feet wet. I came across a call for submission from a smaller press. The call was for “secret crushes” in whatever way, shape or form we wanted to write them. From that little prompt, Plus One sort of blew up in my mind.

2. What is the main lesson that your book is trying to teach?

To not give up on love. I’m a hardcore romantic, and whenever I hear friends say they’ve given up on the dating scene, a little part of me dies. Okay, I’m being dramatic, but seriously. If you don’t want love and really enjoy being single, that’s cool. But if you do, don’t give up on finding it. Even if you have to go out on a date with a plumber who discusses his work over dinner.
I love it!  I agree completely, although I'm not really one to talk since I married my high school sweetheart and first real boyfriend.  lol

3. Moving on to your writing career, how long have you been writing? Did you always dream to become an author?

I’ve been writing for years and years and years. I used to write these really morose and emo poems when I was a tween. They were awful. So awful I cringe whenever I come across them. When I was a teen, I branched out and dabbled in some humorous writing (along with the morose, obviously). And I recently came across a smutty story I wrote when I was about fourteen (don’t tell my mom) that I had absolutely no recollection of. So I guess it’s always been in my blood.
I hope your mom doesn't read this interview! :)  I haven't written in ages but I too used to write some smutty stories when I was a teen.. Amazing since I led a very sheltered life. lol.  Guess I've always had a good imagination!

4. I’m always curious whether or not authors read the same types of books that they write.  So tell us, what book genres do you love to read? to write?

I write what I read, for the most part. While I love a good paranormal romance, my favorite to read (and write) is contemporary romance. I do have a couple plot bunnies for some paranormal, but they seem to fall by the wayside.
As long as there's romance in it, I'm there! :) I do like paranormal but I wonder if it's because it's so popular right now and readily available?  I can't say I necessarily prefer it over contemporary romance.

5. What are you reading right now?

I’m just starting Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (yes, I’m a Harry Potter virgin). I’m also reading No Flowers Required by Cari Quinn, because one can’t live on MG/YA alone.

What?!!  A Harry Potter virgin? I didn't think such a thing existed anymore! lol

6. Have any particular authors inspired you to write? If so, can you name one and what you like about their style?

None that inspired me to write, per se. But there are a handful of contemporary romance authors whom I love and will drop everything to read something new from: Jill Shalvis, Ruthie Knox, Meg Maguire, Shannon Stacey.

7. Do you have any upcoming projects?

Yes! As for releases, I have a longer novella coming out the end of the year as part of the annual Carina Press holiday anthologies. I also have a short story in a Cleis Press anthology coming out February 2014.
As for writing, I have a few that I’m currently juggling—the second in the three-part companion series I’m writing, a new adult, and a darker, edgier contemporary erotic romance.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I enjoyed our visit today! :)

Olivia hates the singles scene, so when her best guy friend, Ian, offers to be her plus one to a series of weddings she has to attend, she agrees. Although she doesn't want to complicate their lifelong friendship, she can't pass up the chance to have a steady date without the dating drama. What she doesn't expect is to now find Ian so incredibly sexy.

When Ian sees his old friend Olivia dolled up for wedding #1, the boyhood crush he once nurtured transforms into smoldering attraction. It doesn't take long for their no-strings arrangement to turn physical. But as Olivia's desire to stay "just friends" becomes clear, Ian's feelings are deepening. In the time they have together, how will Ian convince Olivia that one plus one can make for a lifelong pair?

About the Author :

Brighton Walsh is a storyteller at heart. Whether through words or pictures, she's been weaving tales for as long as she can remember. After decades of cultivating her writing, she finally decided to give life to the voices in her head and set forth to write her first novella. Love is her first love, and writing about it is a dream come true. When she's not writing, you can find her with her nose buried in a steamy book or partaking in some retail therapy. She lives in the Midwest with her swoony husband and two energetic kids who (fortunately) know nothing about the naughty things she puts down on paper.

Character Interview & Giveaway with @ImogenRoseTweet

Good morning my friends!  I dread Mondays, I hate waking up and an alarm clock just blaring at me insisting I get up makes it even worse! lol.  So to start our Monday off right, I'm happy to give you a character interview by Fusion author Imogen Rose.   Enjoy !!   Be sure to check out the giveaway below!

It’s been a few months since I interviewed the charming, but intimidating Jagger Deveraux. I was hoping to interview Arizona, Kellan, or David, but they are next to impossible to pin down. Not that it was particularly easy to arrange a time with Jagger, but I have his number and my whining capacity is legendary, known to bring the most unyielding paranormal to his knees, though it has absolutely no effect on girls, including my own daughter. Anyhow, it’s now three in the afternoon, so he’s late. Hmm. Not happy. Oh, wait! I feel a cool breeze!

As the door to my office opens, the breeze sends shivers through me, and I know I am blushing just a little. I hope he doesn’t assume I’ve got the hots for him. I don’t. Really. :/

Jagger: “Hey! Sorry, I’m late! Got held up by Rupert. And I have to go back. I’ve only got time for a few questions.” He combs his silver-tipped hair back with his fingers and throws me one of his roguish grins.

Moi: “No worries.” Pffft! I wave him to a chair. “How did you get here?” It’s not like he hangs around in Princeton.

Jagger: “I Wandered over. I was in London at Alfred’s house.”

Moi:  “Well, thanks for taking the time to come. I really appreciate it.”

Jagger: “I was a bit surprised when you called. I am but a small player in Fusion.”

Moi: “True, but I was delighted when you turned up at the very start! I sort of wish that you could have stuck around. Where did you go?”

Jagger: “I was merely tasked with accompanying Rupert to London. So that’s what I did.”

Moi: “What’s going on that Rupert had to resume his duties before he was supposed to? We didn’t really find out anything about what was happening in the other dimension.”

Jagger: “You will in Uprising. Suffice it to say that there is ongoing turmoil, and I am very involved with it. In fact, I need to return to London very soon.”

Moi: “Can you tell us anything at all about it?”

Jagger: Shakes his head.

Moi: “What happens when Olivia, Arizona, and Kellan travel back to the other dimension? Are they walking into trouble?”

Jagger: “Very much so. Rupert did mange to secure Mountain View. However, the rest of the world is in chaos.”

Moi: “Will we ever find out what happens to them? I mean, we did get a sneak at what happens ten years from now, but what about until then?”

Jagger: “You will find a lot of stuff out in Uprising.”

Moi: “I know you have to go, but before you do, can you tell me if Cordelia is okay?”

Jagger: His face darkens, and he stands up. He comes over and kisses my hand, and then he fades away.

Hmm

Wow, thanks for stopping by and sharing that interview with us!!  Loved it !  And now, more about Fusion and yes, the giveaway..
