After the dropped call, Tina tried calling Jane back but was unsuccessful after not having a signal.  "That's odd, no signal. Something must  be wrong with the tower."  She noticed Amy looking up at her with concerned blue eyes. She responded by giving her a comforting smile. "Don't worry. We'll try calling Mommy again in a little while."

     Just then, she heard a loud pounding at the door. Tina, not having received Jane's last worried instructions, began to approach the door. "What the . . . hold on!" she said as she was walking. The pounding stopped and Tina looked through the viewer once she was at the door, but could not see anyone outside. She shrugged and decided to open the door cautiously to further investigate. As she cracked the door slightly, two large henchmen barged in and one of them seized Tina by the wrists.

I think I became a writer because the world inside my head was so real and vivid, sometimes more so than the outside world. In some sense I have lived parallel lives, present in my real and imaginary lives in different ways. Because much of my childhood was spent searching for faeries or reading about them, it is natural that my work would encompass faerie tale themes and other magical elements. In the words of Tennessee Williams, forget reality, give me magic! Adrienne has previously published short stories in The Storyteller, Beginnings Magazine, New Plains Review, and in the e-zines A Fly in Amber, Grim Graffiti, Les Bonnes Fees, The Altruist, The Devilfish Review, and Rose Red Review. My Thoughts : 
 Guardian Angels, Demons, Vampires.. Oh my! This is the first book I've read that involved guardian angels and I loved it! Wow, the power is amazing! Selene is the first angel to fall in love with a dark one and loses the chance to become an archangel.  Amazingly she doesn't become a fallen one but still is able to carry out her guardian duties.  Over and over Selene tests her limits by breaking the rules to try to save Cole and then again to try to save her human charge, Caitlyn.  During her quest to save Cole, she meets Luke- another vampire who confuses her with her attraction to him.  I loved the suspense and intrigue in this one. The love triangle left me hopping and I had a hard time deciding who I thought Selene should be with (Luke was my decision, I love an underdog).. I was glued to it til the very last word.. I highly recommend this one !  I want MORE!!

My Thoughts : 

I adored Witch Way Bends (Book 1 in the Bend-Bite-Shift trilogy) and I always worry a little that the rest of the trilogy just won't match up quite as well. As much as I liked the first one, I love the second book (Bitten Shame) even more!! I will warn you that this book jumps back and forth from the present and the past- something that normally I can't handle. I get bored/distracted and boom I'm gone.. I don't have the attention span to follow two story lines at the same time. This time was definitely the exception because somehow Olivia got it just right. In fact, I loved this book so much that I finished it in the time my youngest was at preschool! Talk about absorbed in a book! lol!

 Bitten Shame continues where Witch Way Bends left off only we are now following Jill (Devan's vampire friend). We finally learn more background into how Jill became a vampire and why she is how she is now. Reliving her love story with Doc is consuming and emotional. Without giving away the best parts I leave you with this: "All of it fits". I definitely recommend this series and can't wait for Book 3 to come out (Dec2012)!!
